Andhra Pradesh Government Schemes
Andhra Pradesh is a state in south-eastern India that has a rich history and culture. The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has launched several welfare schemes and initiatives to improve the lives of its people and achieve its vision of a “Rajanna Rajyam”.
Navaratnalu Benefit Schemes
Sri Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has come up with an elaborate model of governance comprised of welfare schemes which are based on Navaratnalu.
The nine Navaratna Welfare Schemes are:
1. YSR Rythu Bharosa
2. Fee Reimbursement
3. YSR Aarogyasri
4. YSR Jalayagnam
5. Amma Vodi
6. YSR Aasara, Cheyutha
7. Housing for all poor
8. Pension - Enhancement
9. Control of Alcohol Consumption
Some of the major schemes are:
YSR Pension Kanuka:
This scheme provides monthly pensions to various categories of beneficiaries such as senior citizens, widows, disabled, weavers, toddy tappers, fishermen, single women, etc. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and social security to the poor and vulnerable sections of the society.
YSR Arogyasri:
This scheme provides free health care services to the people below the poverty line and those who have an annual income of less than Rs. 5 lakhs. The scheme covers more than 2,000 medical procedures and provides cashless treatment in empanelled hospitals.
Jagananna Amma Vodi:
This scheme provides an incentive of Rs. 15,000 per annum to the mothers or guardians of school-going children from classes I to XII. The scheme aims to promote education and reduce the dropout rate among the students.
YSR Rythu Bharosa:
This scheme provides investment support of Rs. 13,500 per annum to the farmers for purchasing inputs like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc. The scheme also provides free electricity, crop insurance, interest-free loans, and other benefits to the farmers.
YSR Cheyutha:
This scheme provides financial assistance of Rs. 75,000 over four years to the women belonging to SC, ST, BC, and minority communities who are aged between 45 and 60 years. The scheme aims to empower them with economic independence and self-reliance.
These are some of the schemes that the Andhra Pradesh government has been implementing for the welfare of its people.
